2018 round up

31st December, 2018

We're writing this post a little later than usual, but we couldn't end this year without a quick round-up of another fantastic year. A year that's seen us host another 3 popular events as well as a sell-out conference.

We started the year with an event covering topics close to business owners, issues like intellectual property and strategy. We were proud to host a collaboration with she does digital (and one of our busiest events yet) welcoming a line-up of incredible female speakers from within the industry, all with talks on how to embrace and deal with failure (we posted a special speaker spotlight with those speakers too). We finished with an essential talk on mental health as well as business and technology advice.

Here's a full list of every talk we've hosted this year:

2018 also saw us sell out the second year of All Day Hey!, our single-track conference we hold once a year. For an event that is still very much in its infancy, having such a buzz around it is incredibly motivating. We've had some fantastic support from the community and speakers to make this conference affordable and valuable, so if you're one of them, thank you.

There's a bit more information about All Day Hey! on the Stac site if you're interested, or if you'd like you can check the conference website from this year.

Here are some of our favourite photos from the last year:

Last year we said this...

For us, Hey! is more than just a meetup. We love that people use the event as a place to socialise and meet new friends, that's how it started, but we see it as much more than that. We want Hey! to be a place where you can come and learn about new things, open your mind to a new way of looking at different topics, somewhere you can feel safe to ask questions and open up the conversation. In part, this is one of the reasons we started the All Day Hey! conferences. We want more people to have access to excellent content without barriers.

This same statement still rings true today. We're committed to putting on open events for all. So onto 2019! We're busy planning and finalising the schedule for the conference to happen in the second quarter of the year. We hope to see you at one of our events, and thanks again for coming along for the ride!
