As part of an ongoing series where we ask industry professionals what they use to get the job done, we speak to Matt, Founder of Creative Life, a platform that supports independent artists and creative freelancers.
Im Matt Essam, I help artists to earn a living from doing work they love. This means musicians, writers, painters, designers ect. Im currently developing an educational platform that will link artists to industry professionals and give them relevant tools and resources to help them earn a living within the creative industry. I also run a record label to help promote some of my favourite electronic music producers and make a few tunes myself.
Macbook air, KRK speakers, DJM 800 mixer, Canon 550d.
How long have you got? The software I use on a regular basis is; Logic pro X, the creative Adobe Suite (Photoshop ect), Evernote, Asana, Slack, Google Drive and Scrivener (for writing).
I have always dreamed of having a big studio somewhere out in North Yorkshire with huge glass windows overlooking the dales. 2 x 27" iMac's, KRK rocket 8's and a Canon 6D. Actually make that a Mac pro.
My Macbook air. I still think its the best laptop around, I forget I'm carrying it half the time but I can easily boot up Logic or Photoshop without it having a paddy (most of the time anyway).
